spider in the machine

I was on my laptop this morning... doing what I do, keeping it real.

A spider pops up out of nowhere and lands on my hand,
naturally I did what any red-blooded American male would do...
I panicked for a second and brushed him away quick.
My aim wasn't the best (mainly because I was freaked the fuck out)

He landed right on my laptop,
between the monitor and the keyboard....
this spider decides to dart inside some vent on the computer.

FUCK!!!

He's still in there, it's been four hours now..
he's in there doing God knows what.

C'mon spider! PLEASE!!! find a new home.

455er/starheadboy collab stickers

455er got ahold of me tonight about doing a collab sticker run together.

I looked around my apartment for something to make the image on and found a 16 by 20 inch canvas... good times!
So, I'm painting the image and that's what is going to get printed up for the sticks.

I can't wait!!

I'm super stoked to be collaborating with 455er.
One of my favorite sticks of all time is the 455er/Bride Campaign sticker.

Damn!! I love it!

(I'll post a picture of the finished painting... once it's finished)

customer service

dealing with the public, one tiny observation.

the crazier the customer...

the more instantly angry they become.

top off all that grade A, 100% pure crazy madness with a layer of irrational anger...

oh YEAH!!! it makes it so much entertaining dealing with the crazies, they burn up a lot of time.

dinosaur slow death blogspot due to infatuation

Little to no posts due to technical failure..

the technical part being my brain and its new obsession with watercolor and paste-ups.

ohhhhhh, watercolor and paste-ups.. can't get enough.. everything else... slowing DOWWWWN.

YARGGGGGG, I have to combat these new seductions, especially before the real winter slow-down hits.

Watercolor and paste-ups!!! stop! quit taking over my entire brain, I need it for other stuff too, C'MON!

Watercolor and paste-ups= HEROIN to me right now..

I'm helpless.

penguin canvas on the streets

enamel paint on canvas on wooden poles

Karl Addison and I were out putting in work. We ran into two women on one of the street corners, they asked about the penguin and fed us some apples.. I needed the delicious apples, thank you so much!!

I ran a couple miles before we hit the streets and hadn't eaten anything.. for dinner I ended up having:
1 blue moon beer (bottle)
a couple handfuls of sunflower seeds
1 apple
2 glasses of Manny's
1 bag of Funyuns

I didn't have all this stuff at the same time either, so it wasn't a proper dinner.
I think I got all the recommended vitamins and minerals.

tickle a shark

I started my new part-time job at the Seattle Aquarium today.
The degree in Marine Biology finally paid off.

My job consists of getting in the shark tank..
and tickling the sharks bellies.

I'm just doing my part to keep these underwater beasts happy and in check.

If they don't stay happy, they'll roam around and bite the teeth out of every creature that floats anywhere near them...

...and that is not good.
(getting your teeth bitten out sucks, believe me)

Just seeing that little smile peak out on a sharks mouth mid-tickle makes it all worth it.

a buffalo does not equal a "holy cow"

My buffalo always get mistaken for other animals.. mostly cows or "holy cows", because of the halo.

At one of my shows, my buddy Colin had a conversation with a guy that insisted that the buffalo was a "holy cow".
Colin stated over and over that it was a buffalo and the artist was standing right behind the guy and he could confirm it.

The guy kept insisting, then walked away.

I think the story is hilarious, Colin is a writer, script writer and an artist, he has an incredible imagination, unlimited creativity and can tell a mean story.

I love when he brings up the "holy cow" story, he tells it soooo good.

He drew this comic about the experience..

I fucking love it!

no more bike locks

let's face facts.. bike locks are kind of a pain in the ass to carry around.
I don't even have a bike, I'm going off information provided by friends. (bike locks= got to go)

So instead of bike locks, here is the new technique.

bike lock replacement program 2009 (BLRP2K9)

bike + tape + cobra = bike protection
(see bad drawing)

No one is going to steal a bike with a cobra taped to it, I guarantee it
I understand that a cobra is kind of expensive, especially during these times of economic downturn.
If that's the case, switch out the cobra with a boa constrictor.

The result is the same.

let's pull together and get this new program off the ground
good times!

(I'm on the lookout for an old bmx type bike, if anyone sees one for sale.. let me know)

I'll take care of you

These are some details for a painting I've been working on for the Artifakt 3-year anniversary show.

Its been awhile since I really painted, I forgot how good it feels.

I've had a rush of ideas and endorphins ever since I started this piece.

For this show, each artist is only going to have one piece (a 4 by 4 foot piece)
Mine is 3 feet by 4 feet (horizontal) and I added four small pieces that hang by wire underneath the big canvas.

This is the first piece that I've combined the really dark and light themes together. It was an experiment, I'm stoked on the results...I'll definitely be making more work like this over the winter.
It's all about healing and looking to the light no matter what, moving forward.

good times!

The Artifakt 3-year anniversary show is this Saturday
September 12th 2009 at Nectar in Fremont.

new technology now!

This friend of mine is going on a trip out in a desert area of Nevada,
he was telling me how there is no phone reception out there.. it's too far away from any cell tower.

If you are out of range of a cell tower, your phone should assume that you are in trouble.

This brings me to new technology that every phone should have.

Once you lose reception.. your phone goes into "survival" mode.
Two small sticks pop out of the top of the phone.

These two sticks rub together rapidly.. until they create fire for you.

As an added feature, another slot should open in the phone and release a marshmellow, a chunk of chocolate, and two graham crackers. (the perfect ingredients to keep you alive!)

In "survival" mode, you will be delivered fire and at least one smore to get you through.

This is REAL technology, get some scientists on this..PRONTO!!

bad dreams= pure entertainment!

I want to know all the different foods that give people bad dreams.
I love bad dreams!!

Who doesn't like to be scared?
It's awesome and it's just a dream, you get the wake up and it's over.
Hells yes!

Having a nightmare is like going to see a horror movie,
without having to pay to get into the theater or eat popcorn.

Nightmares get a bad rap and should be embraced for what they are...

pure beautiful entertainment.

zombies, serial killers, snakes... bring it!!!
